Business Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering a business on Bookwik ("the Platform"), you agree to these Business Terms of Service. These terms apply to all businesses — salons, spas, dental clinics, and other appointment-based service providers — that list services and accept bookings through Bookwik.
2. Your Relationship with Bookwik
Bookwik acts as a technology platform connecting businesses with customers. You remain an independent business entity. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and Bookwik.
You own the customer relationship. Clients who book through Bookwik are your customers. You are responsible for fulfilling the services you list, managing your schedule, and maintaining your own client communications. Bookwik provides the booking infrastructure — the service delivery is yours.
3. Account and Verification
To use Bookwik you must:
- Provide accurate, current business information
- Complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification
- Maintain a valid business registration where required
- Keep your account credentials secure
You are responsible for all activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at support@bookwik.app.
4. Fees and Payment
How You Get Paid
Bookwik charges a 5% commission on each completed booking or order. This is automatically deducted from customer payments via Paystack split payments — your share goes directly to your bank account.
There are no monthly subscription fees, setup fees, or hidden charges. You only pay when you earn.
Fees Are Non-Refundable
Commission fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If a customer receives a refund on a booking, the corresponding commission is reversed.
5. Cancellation Policy
You are required to set a cancellation policy when registering your business. This policy is displayed to every customer before they confirm a booking, so they know exactly what to expect.
Your cancellation policy must clearly state when customers can cancel, what charges apply for late cancellations or no-shows, and what happens when you (the business) need to cancel. You can update your policy at any time from your dashboard settings.
Disputes about cancellations will be reviewed by Bookwik support. We reserve the right to intervene where we detect a pattern of unfair cancellation practices.
6. Refund Policy
You are required to set a refund policy when registering your business. Like the cancellation policy, this is shown to customers before checkout so they understand the refund terms for your services.
Your refund policy must cover situations such as:
- Full refunds for cancellations within your stated window
- Partial refunds or credits for late cancellations
- What happens when you cancel or reschedule an appointment
- Any conditions under which a completed-service refund is offered
You may update your refund policy at any time from your dashboard.
7. Your Content and Data
You own your content. All business information, service listings, images, pricing, and client data you upload belongs to you. By listing on Bookwik you grant us a limited license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform.
If you delete your account, your content and client data will be removed from our active systems within 30 days. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes.
7. Service Listings
You agree to:
- List services accurately with correct pricing
- Honor all confirmed bookings
- Maintain current availability and staff schedules
- Deliver services in a professional, safe manner
- Comply with all applicable health, safety, and licensing regulations in your jurisdiction
8. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- List illegal, harmful, or misleading services
- Circumvent Bookwik's payment system to accept off-platform payments for bookings made through the Platform
- Harass, discriminate against, or mistreat customers
- Use the Platform to spam, solicit, or conduct phishing
- Attempt to access other businesses' accounts or data
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or receive persistent negative reviews indicating a pattern of poor service. We will provide reasonable notice before termination except in cases of serious misconduct.
You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Any outstanding payouts will be processed within the normal settlement cycle.
10. Limitation of Liability
Bookwik provides the Platform "as is." We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the fees we collected from you in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of services you provide.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
